Daniel R. Shea, PT
Graduated form Florida International University, Miami, Florida in 1982. He began practicing at Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, TX and was the Director of Rehab Medicine until 1988 when he opened his private practice. His specialty involves all orthopedic injuries, sports injuries, and industrial ergonomic consultation. Dan continues his love for the outdoors with his involvement in Boy Scouts. He supports and assists with Incarnate Word Middle & High School swim teams. He enjoys family gatherings with his wife, Debbie, and their 7 children and 2 grandchildren.
Deborah A. Shea, PT
Graduated from Florida International University, Miami, Florida in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science of Physical Therapy. She specialized in pediatric, neuro rehabilitation, and general orthopedic therapy. Debbie worked at Ada Wilson Rehabilitation Center until 1989 and is currently involved with business support of Shea Physical Therapy. Debbie is active with the youth at the Corpus Christi Cathedral and also coordinates a Mom's Group at Saint Patrick's Church. She enjoys her quiet time for reading and personal study. Debbie stays involved with the many activities of her 5 children.
Diane Drysdale, PT
Diane Drysdale, PT is currently the Clinical Director for Shea Physical Therapy. She graduated in 1984 from Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. Diane specializes in the areas of orthopedics and sport-related injuries. Some of the aspects she enjoys about working in the physical therapy field include helping the young athletes regain their confidence and strength and helping the older patients to regain their independence. Diane believes, "We can't fix everything, but will do everything we can to try or direct them where they can get help. We try to treat each patient as if they were a family member that needed help." Her interests outside of work include fitness, sailing, reading, traveling, spoiling my fourteen nieces and nephews, and spending time with family.
Ria Strowbridge, PT
Ria Strowbridge, PT is the Clinical Coordinator for Shea Physical Therapy. She graduated from Hogeschool Midden-Nederland (The Netherlands) in 1987. Ria worked one year in an orthopedic clinic prior to arriving in the USA in 1988 where she began practicing at Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, TX. She has post-graduate work from TWU (Dallas) in neurodevelopmental training and trained at Ohio Physical Therapy and Sportsmedicine in Cleveland for 18 months. Her specialties include orthopedics, manual therapy, and sports injuries. She greatly enjoys the patient-therapist interaction aspect of physical therapy. She believes, "You should treat others the way you want to be treated." Her hobbies include spending time with her family, running and gardening.
Paige Christensen, PT
Paige Christensen, PT is the Clinic Compliance Officer and HIPPA specialist at Shea Physical Therapy. She graduated from the University Of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas in 1987. She specializes in geriatrics, neurorehabilitation, and general orthopedics. Paige enjoys "assisting her patients achieve their individual goals". Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, 4-wheeling in Colorado and all outdoor activities with her family.
Sheila Heflin, OTR, CHT
Sheila Heflin, OTR, CHT has served as the Clinical Director for Hand Therapy Services of Corpus Christi since 1994. She is a 1986 graduate of Texas Woman's University. Sheila has practiced occupational therapy in the Corpus Christi area since 1987. In 1998 she achieved national certification as a Certified Hand Therapist. As a Certified Hand Therapist she specializes in the rehabilitation of patients with conditions affecting the hands, wrists and elbows. Sheila states she "is passionate about her work and the pleasure of assisting patients to return to life as quickly as possible." In her spare time she enjoys beach combing, fishing and golfing. Sheila is an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists and the Texas Chapter of ASHT.
Joyce Hamende, PTA
Joyce Hamende, PTA is a Physical Therapy Assistant for Shea Physical Therapy. She graduated from Illinois Central College in 1980. Upon relocating to South Texas, she began at Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, TX. She joined the Shea Physical Therapy staff in 1990. She believes great clients, a positive atmosphere, and a very knowledgeable staff makes her occupation very enjoyable. Her philosophy of care states, "You can give a person a fish and feed him for a day or teach him to fish so he can feed himself." Her outside interests include camping, hiking, biking and the arts.
Lee Ann Dragon, PTA
Lee Ann Dragon, PTA is a Physical Therapy Assistant for Shea Physical Therapy. She graduated from Del Mar College in 2004. She greatly enjoys working with her patients and creating a good working environment. Her philosophy of care states, "We should provide a high quality of care in a friendly manner that makes the patient as comfortable as possible." Her outside interests include reading a good book and spending time with her family.
Thomas Houck, PTA
Thomas Houck, PTA is a Physical Therapy Assistant. He is a native of Corpus Christi and attended local schools. Thomas enjoys working with his patients and believes in giving the best possible care.
In his spare time Thomas enjoys fishing, surfing and playing guitar.
Shana Brand, PTA
Shana Brand, PTA is a Physical Therapist Assistant, and a graduate of Del Mar College. Her philosophy of care is, "Every patient deserves to be treated like the unique individual they are." Her goal at Shea is to continue to learn and grow as a therapist, and always provide the best patient care possible. She enjoys listening to music, reading and spending quality time with her family.
Adel is the Office Manager for Shea Physical Therapy and Hand Therapy Services. She has been with the company since it began in 1988. Adel has a wealth of knowledge related to medical insurance, scheduling and assisting patients with payment plans. Please feel free to contact her with any questions, concerns or specific needs.
