The Shea Physical Therapy and Hand Therapy Services Team
Shea Physical Therapy (SPT) was founded in 1988 by Dan and Debbie Shea. They graduated from Florida International University, Miami, Florida in 1982 and Dan followed Debbie to Corpus Christi where her family was stationed in the Navy. Dan worked at Memorial Medical Center as Director of Rehabilitative Medicine, and Debbie joined Ada Wilson as a pediatric physical therapist. Shea Physical Therapy's first location was in the Thomas Spann Clinic on South Brownlee. The office was located here until 1992 when SPT moved to its current facility on Everhart.
The clinic's 10,000 square foot facility includes ten licensed therapists and one athletic trainer. In 1993, Hand Therapy Services was added to the facility under the direction of Sheila Heflin, OTR, CHT. Jennifer Hing Jones, OTR has recently rejoined Sheila providing hand rehabilitative care. Beginning in January 2020, Shea Physical Therapy added Lymphedema care under the direction of Anita Spreen, OTR, LLCC. Dan is excited to have Anita join his company to provide this important service.
